Privacy Notice

What we collect

• Contact details, name, email, phone, address, ZIP, and preferred contact channels.
• Quoting details, vehicles and VINs, drivers and dates of birth, property characteristics, pets, business operations, prior carrier and premium, and claims history.
• Documents you upload, declarations pages, driver’s license images, and employee census files.
• Site usage, pages viewed, approximate location from IP (city/region), device and browser type, and referral source.

Why we collect it

To prepare insurance quotes, run comparative rating with our carriers, follow up on your request, service policies we place, meet insurance recordkeeping requirements, and improve the site. We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

Insurance carriers and wholesalers we approach on your behalf, our comparative rating and agency-management vendors, secure email and hosting providers, and AI processing used to read uploaded documents and summarize your file. Service providers act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your data for their own marketing. We also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights.

Documents and sensitive data

License and declarations uploads are stored in a private, access-controlled bucket. Internal links to those files are time-limited and only shared with licensed agency staff working your quote. We keep quoting records for as long as required by state insurance regulations, then delete or anonymize them.

Cookies, analytics, and heatmaps

We use first-party storage to save your in-progress quote on your device, and third-party analytics (including Crazy Egg heatmaps and session insights) to understand how pages are used. These tools mask form input by default and we exclude internal, staff, and administrative traffic. You can block cookies in your browser or enable Global Privacy Control / Do Not Track; the quote form will still work, though saved progress may not.

Text messages and email

If you opt in to calls, texts, or email, we use those channels only to follow up on your request and service your policies. Reply STOP to end texts or use the unsubscribe link in any email. Transactional messages about an active quote or policy may still be sent.

Your choices and rights

You may request a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where no regulatory retention applies, or withdraw contact consent. Email connect@policy-scout.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Security

The site is served exclusively over HTTPS, and every form submission is encrypted in transit. Access to lead records is limited to authenticated agency staff, and database access is enforced with row-level security.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information outside of household members listed on a policy by an adult.
